As with any charity, we rely heavily on the support of our community and tireless army of fundraisers. For us to be able to continue our work and help even more women, it's vital that we keep our fundraising efforts embedded in our culture. As cheesy as it sounds, we really do put the fun into fundraising (when we're not in Lockdown of course) and there are a number of ways you can support the Centre – from being a volunteer, organising your own event, joining in with one of the many local sporting events or very simply subscribing to Amazon Smile. It can be as easy as you want it to be. One thing is for sure though, you'll be making a massive difference to women from across Stockport who desperately need our support.
Kythera Therapies profits support the work of Stockport Women's Centre. A great way to add value to the Centre and a vital service that provides private counselling and Psychotherapy. The team provide expert help with Depression, Stress, Grief and Relationships with the reassurance of being BACP accredited. Take a look at the website for further information.
We don't need to tell you that we rely on fundraising and donations to keep the Centre running. We organise a number of events every year as well as encouraging entries into the numerous sporting events that take place throughout the year. Details of any fundraising events will be advertised here on our website or over on Twitter. Talking of Twitter, why not give us a 'follow' and help us by sharing our news, that can make a big difference too. Find us at @womenscentreSPT.
However big or small the organisation, there are numerous ways you can get involved and support the work of our Centre.
You could nominate us as your Charity Of The Year, organise an event for your team (online is very 'on-trend' at the moment), or even set up a Payroll Giving Scheme – a tax efficient way to support your favourite charity. It really doesn't matter how much you raise, you’ll have made a tangible difference to our Centre and the women we support. However you'd like to be involved, just give us a call, drop us an email, send us a tweet, we're looking forward to hearing from you.
The obvious way to fundraise online is to use the popular platform Justgiving. An easy way to share your activities with family and friends as well as removing the hassle of having to manage the money. There are other platforms you can use too which are just as simple but if you need any advice please just get in touch.
You can also register with Amazon Smile - the same reliable way of being able to shop online as Amazon (it's the same) except for every pound you spend, they will donate a percentage to the charity of your choice. Take a look, it's a great way to support us. There's also giveasyoulive.com or easyfundrasing.org.uk who again will donate a percentage of sales to your chosen charity.
If you are interested in being a fundraising volunteer why not contact the Centre. As a first step, drop us an email with some etails of what you'd like to do and a bit about yourself. We love to hear from people who are keen to get involved and know more about our work. The more the merrier! '
